Teriyaki chicken is probably my families favorite dish. No matter how many times I make it they polish off the dinner every single night.
they also are sticklers for my Honey Lemon Chinese Chicken!!!
With a simple marinade to tenderize the chicken and a sauce made with ingredients you have in your pantry(if you cook anything asian!), its just such a staple!
Teriyaki chicken sauce
The flavoring in this dish comes from a quick, homemade teriyaki sauce on a base of soy sauce, sugar, and garlic. We use freshly grated ginger for an extra kick and sesame oil for depth of flavor.
what you’ll need:
- brown sugar
- soy sauce
- fresh ginger and garlic
- rice vinegar
- sesame seeds
- sesame oil
simply whisk the sauce and add it to your stir fried chicken, then cook until you see little caramelized bits- those are the coveted pieces!


Teriyaki Chicken in the Crockpot
this is a fabulous recipe to try in your slow cooker! Great if you want to prepare dinner in advance and set it to go while you run errands. Pour sauce over chicken in your crockpot, seit it and forget it. Finish off the dinner by pushing the chicken to one side and adding the broccoli to cook for just a short while.

BEST Teriyaki Chicken and Broccoli
Ingredients
- 2 lb Chicken breast or thigh sliced to strips
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp pepper
- 1 Tbs oil
- 1 Tbs cornstarch
Sauce:
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Soy sauce
- 1 Tbs rice vinegar
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 5-6 cloves garlic chopped
- 4 tsp sesame seeds
1 bag frozen Broccoli, thawed or one head of fresh broccoli cut into florets
Instructions
Make it in the slow cooker:
- Add chicken to the bottom of the slow cooker and season with oil, salt and pepper. Mix to coat chicken.
- Whisk sauce ingredients together and pour over chicken. Mix well.
- Cook 3-3.5 hours on high, or on low 6-7 hours, until chicken is cooked through. Toss chicken and push to one side of the pot.
- Add broccoli to other side. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and Cook another 30 minutes.
- Serve with jasmine rice and enjoy!
make in the skillet:
- season chicken and let sit while you prepare the sauce: whisk all ingredients together.Add 4 Tablespoons oil to a hot skillet and add chicken, cook until cooked through and no liquid remains. Pour over sauce and cook another 2-3 minutes, until chicken turns golden and starts to caramelise in places. Steam broccoli in your rice cooker or blanch by boiling a pot of water, placing in broccoli and letting boil for 4-6 minutes. Drain immediately.Serve with rice and enjoy!
