BEST Teriyaki Chicken and Broccoli

Delicious teriyaki chicken stir fry with steamed broccoli and hommeade teriyaki sauce.
Servings 4 people

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb Chicken breast or thigh sliced to strips
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbs oil
  • 1 Tbs cornstarch

Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Soy sauce
  • 1 Tbs rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 5-6 cloves garlic chopped
  • 4 tsp sesame seeds

1 bag frozen Broccoli, thawed or one head of fresh broccoli cut into florets

    Instructions
     

    Make it in the slow cooker:

    • Add chicken to the bottom of the slow cooker and season with oil, salt and pepper. Mix to coat chicken.
    • Whisk sauce ingredients together and pour over chicken. Mix well.
    • Cook 3-3.5 hours on high, or on low 6-7 hours, until chicken is cooked through. Toss chicken and push to one side of the pot.
    • Add broccoli to other side. Season with salt and pepper.
    • Cover and Cook another 30 minutes.
    • Serve with jasmine rice and enjoy!

    make in the skillet:

    • season chicken and let sit while you prepare the sauce: whisk all ingredients together.
      Add 4 Tablespoons oil to a hot skillet and add chicken, cook until cooked through and no liquid remains. Pour over sauce and cook another 2-3 minutes, until chicken turns golden and starts to caramelise in places.
      Steam broccoli in your rice cooker or blanch by boiling a pot of water, placing in broccoli and letting boil for 4-6 minutes. Drain immediately.
      Serve with rice and enjoy!
