If you’re thinking about the upcoming fast of Tisha B’Av and wondering what to make before the fast starts or what to make for breaking the fast, I’ve got you!
Tisha B’Av is by far the hardest fast in the year for me. It is so long and because we can drive and do things(unlike Yom Kippur), i always outdo myself and don’t rest enough…and then feel like im about to die afterwards(dramatic but very true!).
After a long fast all you want is a nice spread of delicious goodies and these are some of our favorites!
Starting with mini cinnamon bagels- that freeze wonderfully and are a great sweet addition to your spread- mini is great because no one can eat a full huge bagel on an empty stomach!

On top of those we always make my husbands family recipe for a big mushroom bureka and these other goodies..
1.Mini Cinnamon Bagels
The cutest most delicious bagels that are so easy to prepare! You can make these without the cinnamon filling as well but it really adds that bakery touch, especially with some plain whipped cream cheese or butter and salt. My kids eat these in droves!

3. Sour Cream Coffee Cake Muffins
A sweet option for anyone who’s been waiting a whole 24 hours for their coffee..and a cake to go with it! These muffins have a soft light crumb..freeze some for kiddish on Shabbat too!
4. Camembert Cream Quiche
This quiche is filling but very light and has so much lovely flavor! It’s one of my favorites and great for any break-the-fast spread.
5. Apple Cinnamon Galette
Galettes are so easy to make and the fruity apples are light and refreshing for after the fast.
6. Pull Apart Garlic Breadsticks
using my magical one bowl pizza dough, these garlic rolls stuffed with cheese are all you’ll be thinking about- very easy to make and serve with a bowl of pizza sauce and some vegetable soup for a wonderful light meal.
